What Is Festive Frames?

Festive Frames is a unique art framework system that allows you to create life‑size sculptures and adorn them with festive lighting. It changes the way we approach home and garden displays — taking them beyond simple decoration and transforming them into an art form.

Think of Festive Frames as a construction kit, similar in principle to those made from interlocking bricks, where a set of components can be assembled into many different shapes. With Festive Frames, you can choose to buy an individual kit that creates one specific sculpture, or opt for a multi‑design kit — such as the 3/4 Kit, Full Kit, or Mega Kit — which allows you to build one of many designs, and then create something completely different the following year using the same components.*

On 2026 we introduce an AP that allows you to what you can make from your components and what additional designs you can make with just a few additional parts. Then the will allow you to create a bespoke upgrade just for your specification. 

This flexibility keeps your displays fresh, interesting, and uniquely yours. If you start with an individual kit, you also have the option to upgrade later using one of our upgrade packs.

Framework‑only kits are supplied without lights, allowing you to use your existing string lights. Alternatively, kits are available with light sets included.

All Festive Frames frameworks are designed to be flexible rather than rigid. They move and flex naturally in the wind and are finished in black (with the exception of clamp bolts) so they fade into the background at night, allowing the lights to take centre stage.

Art, Not Just Decoration — Understanding the Concept

Festive Frames breaks new ground, so it’s understandable to think of it as a decoration. However, at its core, it is an art form — and you are the artist.

Using a small number of materials, you create a large‑scale sculpture. Much like a street artist transforming an urban wall with paint, or a sand sculptor shaping something extraordinary on a beach, the process takes time and effort — but the result is something that truly wows.

A sand sculpture may take hours to build, amaze everyone who sees it, and then disappear with the next tide. The sand remains, ready to be reshaped into something new. Festive Frames works in the same way. You invest time, you create something special, and at the end of the season it’s taken down — ready to be reborn as a completely new sculpture next time.

Bridging the Gap Between Commercial and Domestic Displays

What’s the real difference between commercial festive lighting displays and home displays?

It isn’t the lights themselves — an LED is an LED. The difference lies in what the lights are displayed on.

Commercial displays benefit from large budgets and extensive storage facilities for the eleven months of the year when the displays aren’t in use. Festive Frames changes this. The system is designed to bring commercial‑scale displays within the reach — and budgets — of the general public. Even better, it packs away into a box small enough to fit under a bed.

There is, however, a compromise — just as there is with any form of art. Creating these sculptures takes skill, effort, and time. Smaller designs may take only minutes to assemble, while larger, more advanced sculptures can take several hours. The Festive Frames Full Kit is designed to support this entire range.

The System Explained

Festive Frames is a framework system designed specifically for seasonal lighting. It is flexible, durable, and packs down to a compact size for easy storage when not in use.

The structures allow wind to pass through them, reducing resistance, and are designed to flex rather than remain completely rigid.

The system allows you to create your own shapes and sculptures to suit your home and garden — and to change them year after year.

Multi‑design kits come with a range of pre‑designed ideas, complete with full assembly instructions, as shown on the website. Unlike traditional construction kits that focus on a single build, Festive Frames instructions include numerous designs and concepts. You can build one design at a time, and any unused components can often be used to create smaller features such as mini arches or stars.

Kits With or Without Lights

You can choose between framework‑only kits or kits that include lighting.

The lights used are standard low‑voltage festive string lights — the same type commonly used on Christmas trees — and many customers already own suitable sets. If not, lights can be purchased either as part of a kit or individually, depending on your needs.

...or the Border System that allows you to outline your existing displays, lawns or driveways with a choice of shapes.

Then when you have made your shapes, simply clip your string lights to them.

Festive Frames is totally universal and will allow you to add any low voltage string lights that you like both new or old.

At the end of the season, simply unclip your lights and dismantle the framework. Pack away and they are ready for your new creations next year.

It is not all about Christmas

You can use Festive Frames for other events throughout the year. 

Such as Halloween.

or maybe a birthday celebration with the numbers designs that uses digital numbers to create any age from 1 to 99.

TIME FOR YOU TO BE THE DESIGNER

Once you have used Festive Frames a couple of times you will be familiar with its potential and its limitations. Now you can start to let your inner, creative self, emerge. Make your own designs. Do you like Aviation, or Trains, Sports, or Spaceships?  The potential is endless from simple small shapes up to elaborate sculptures.   
Keep in mind some simple rules:

Never bend ridged poles. They are a solid pole (not hollow like tent poles) and whilst designed to flex are not designed to be permanently bent. The flexible poles do that job for you. The main rule to keep in mind is that the flexible poles will always need ridged poles to support the structure you are making.

Your rule of thumb is to create a framework base from the rigid poles and embellish it with the flexible ones.

Festive displays don't have to be the typical Snowmen and Santa presentations. By introducing something different, it still remains a festive display but has a unique twist. People don't get curious to visit the house that has the Santa outside because every display has that. Change that up to a racing car or life size Polar Bear and even folks who don't normally go looking for Christmas lighting displays will make the effort. Why? Because you're the house with the huge Polar Bear, Kitten or Puppy!

 

We will constantly be creating new designs and extension packs with design downloads will be added to our range. Thus continuing to give you more value for money even after you have made your initial purchase. With the multi-design kits your festive display can be different every year without the need to buy different products or store large size decorations. It takes effort, but the result is rewarded by the reaction from your audience. You will become the owner of the display to be seen and the one most admired.
