Sloped Ground

One problem that many people come across is sloped ground. Many of the Festive Frames designs work fine on gently sloped ground. Especially 3D displays such as the Polar Bear, Spider or Racing Car. However one dimensional displays need to be relatively level. They look better that way and are easier to peg down to avoid toppling.

There is a simple solution to this. You can use surplus parts from your multi sculpture kits or buy our sloped ground pack. Buy Here

During construction of your chosen sculpture design, level the first layers out. The bottom layer of most designs are built with 5 way connectors that sit with the flat side facing the ground. Turn this connector so there is a hole facing downwards. Then select the closest size short pole to bring your framework approximately level. It doesn't need to be exact , just somewhere near. Everybody will have different size poles they use depending on their ground slope and in some cases there will be different sizes used if the ground slopes 2 ways.  It is something you would have to work out yourself.

If you can fit a 5 way connector under the small pole you have added that is best. However sometimes that may not work. In that instance use a pole long enough to go into the ground a little and leave the additional 5 way off.

This image shows a frame on a sloped ground. You can see it isn't going to work and the finished framework may topple forward.

In this instance 2 x 10cm poles and 2 x additional 5 way connectors solved the problem.

Here are the two examples side by side

Please note that our framework designs can work on gently sloped ground up to an incline of approximately 7:1 for shallow displays down to 14:1 for deeper displays such as walk throughs . It is not recommended to install them on steeper inclines.
