The System

Festive Frames is a unique art framework system that allows you to create life size sculptures that you adorn with festive lights. It changes the way we create home & garden festive lighting displays. Taking them from simply decorations and turns them into an art form. 

Think of Festive Frames as being a construction kit similar to those made from plastic bricks that you construct shapes using a set of components. With Festive Frames you have the choice to buy a kit that makes just the one chyosen sculpture (dedicated kit) or alternatively go the whole hog and buy a full kit that enables you to make just about everything you see on the website*. The choice is yours. If you buy a dedicated kit you have the option to upgrade at a later date to the full kit. 

Base kits come without lights allowing you to utilise your own existing string lights. In July 2025 we plan to add kit options that include lights also. 

* Some designs require a small expansion pack. 

Art not Decoration - Understanding The Concept.

Festive Frames is a unique product and it is understandable to think that it is seen as being a decoration as it breaks new ground within that realm. However at the core of the concept lies an art form. Think of Festive Frames as being being a form of art and you are the artist. From a few materials you are creating an artistic sculpture. Similar to the street artist that with a little paint and a large scale urban canvas creates a piece of art. Or the sand sculptor who create wonderful beach sculptures on a large scale. The beach sculpture takes hours to create, it Wows the onlooker and washes away at the next tide. The Sand remains and can be remodelled next time into something new. Festive Frames is similar. You put effort in, you Wow your audience and then it is taken down at the end of the season ready to be reborn into a new sculpture next time.

Bridging the gap between commercial and domestic displays. 

Question:   What is the difference between commercial Christmas lighting displays and home displays?

Answer: It isn’t the lights themselves, as an LED light is simply an LED light. It is what the lights are displayed on that makes the difference.

Commercial lighting displays not only have large budgets they also have large storage facilities for the 11 months of the year that the displays are not used. Festive Frames changes this. The system is designed to bring commercial size displays into the realm and budgets of the general public. Not only that, it also packs away into a box that can literally fit under a bed!

There is a compromise to be made though. Just as in any form of art. It will take skill, some effort and some time to create your unique sculptures but the result will be worth it. Sculptures can take from few minutes to make up to 7 hours for the large, more advanced, designs. The Festive Frames full kit covers all of this. 

The System Explained.

Festive Frames is a framework system designed specifically with seasonal lighting in mind. It is flexible and packs down to a small size when not in use. Perfect for easy storage.

It creates sculptures and shapes that offer little resistance to wind as the wind passes through them. Festive Frames is designed to flex so is not 100% rigid. 

It allows the user to design their own shapes and sculptures to suit their home & garden and change them every year.

The full kit comes with some predesigned ideas as seen on the website with full assembly instructions , however the only limit to its endless shapes is your imagination. The full kit instructions show not just one sculpture (as you may see in a construction kit for example) but numerous designs and ideas.

Important note: Lights are not included in base kits. 

Why is this? Festive Frames is the framework only, along with clips that are reusable to attach your own lights. We don't include lights in base kits because the lights used are simply low voltage festive string lights and the chances are that you already have these. If not, you have the choice to buy them from wherever you like in whatever colours you want. We will have options to buy lights added to the line up from July 2025.  Everybody's taste and choice will be different.  If we included lights in every kit it would push the price up and force you to buy what you may already have. So to keep it simple we left them out of the base kits  so the choice is yours. See our lighting tips and techniques page here.

Create arches life size or small enough to repeat around your garden.

How about a full size adult Polar Bear?

Create shapes like circles or hearts to go in trees or on fences and walls or form pathway and garden borders.…. The list is endless.

Then when you have made your shapes, simply clip your string lights to them.

Festive Frames is totally universal and will allow you to add any low voltage string lights that you like both new or old.

At the end of the season, simply unclip your lights and dismantle the framework. Pack away and they are ready for your new creations next year.

 

 

TIME FOR YOU TO BE THE DESIGNER

Once you have used Festive Frames a couple of times you will be familiar with its potential and its limitations. Now you can start to let your inner, creative self, emerge. Make your own designs. Do you like Aviation, or Trains, Sports, or Spaceships?  The potential is endless from simple small shapes up to elaborate sculptures.   
Keep in mind some simple rules:

Never bend ridged poles. They are a solid pole (not hollow like tent poles) and whilst designed to flex are not designed to be permanently bent. The flexible poles do that job for you. The main rule to keep in mind is that the flexible poles will always need ridged poles to support the structure you are making.

Your rule of thumb is to create a framework base from the rigid poles and embellish it with the flexible ones.

Festive displays don't have to be the typical Snowmen and Santa presentations. By introducing something different, it still remains a festive display but has a unique twist. People don't get curious to visit the house that has the Santa outside because every display has that. Change that up to a racing car or life size Polar Bear and even folks who don't normally go looking for Christmas lighting displays will make the effort. Why? Because your the house with the huge Polar Bear! 

We will constantly be creating new designs and extension packs with design downloads will be added to our range. Your festive display can be different every year without the need to buy different products or store large size decorations. It takes effort, but the result is rewarded by the reaction from your audience. You will become the owner of the display to be seen and the one most admired.
